There are some things we can’t remember about our childhood and some memories that are crystal clear. There are also those moments that were captured on a video and we, after watching that video, adopted the memory as our own, even if we were too young to actually remember the occasion. Or perhaps a story was told so many times that we feel we remember being there.
One memory of mine happened more often than not on Saturday mornings during my childhood. My dad would fire up the griddle, melt some butter, and cook up a big stack of pancakes for my brothers and I. Maple syrup was a must. No substitutes would do.
When I lived in Chicago, one of my favorite things was the coming of Spring. Thousands of tulips were planted in the downtown area where we lived. You couldn’t turn a corner without running into a bed of freshly planted blooms. Finally… winter was OVER!!! Now living in Phoenix winter is over all too fast, but I still love that initial weather change from the “cold” to warm with a cool breeze. It’s short-lived here… but I still enjoy it… especially since I know it’s the final breath of fresh, cool air before the intense summer heat comes upon us. Then you’ll find me by the pool!
I’m fairly certain these mini cupcakes will be the hit of your Easter Celebration this year!
They are easy to make. They are bite-size. They are cute as all get-out.
I almost feel funny posting this “Step-by-Step” because it is just as easy as THE ‘HOW-TO’ says it is.
I have a “stand-by” that I’ve used for a LONG time for every baby shower that I go to.
My husband is not your ‘typical’ guy.
Here are some last minute gifts you can make right in your own kitchen.
White Chocolate Pretzel Toffee…
I’ve been baking, taking, and consuming these decadent, gift-worthy treats for the past month.
And now I must go collapse.
I hope you enjoy!
It seems that the recipes of my own that turn out best are the ones that come from a need to make dinner without making a trip to the grocery store.
I wanted to do a ‘Blue Cheese’ quesadilla recipe, but all the ones I found had a LOT of ingredients and that’s just not in the budget for this month (or most months!) I decided to go for making my own ‘recipe’ again and added blue cheese to the mix. I got some ideas from chefs online: triple decker style instead of just two tortillas and grilling the quesadilla instead of cooking it in the pan. Both of these things are new favorites, and I think we’ll use them in ALL future quesadillas… especially the grilling them part!… SO delicious!
I really LOVE recipes that include a small amount of ingredients and BIG flavor! This recipe does just that. Here is everything you will need:
Really… that’s it!… That is ALL you need!
The blue cheese is the most expensive item, but if you can find it on sale (I did!)… it’s worth trying.
Here’s my recipe: Blue Cheese Quesadillas
