I feel I posted my Strawberry-Peach Smoothie recipe a bit prematurely.
It was still missing something. And I was definitely not happy with the final photos I got of the smoothie. They were taken at night. They were taken in poor lighting. They were taken while holding my 5 month old. He was having a fussy, tired, I-want-your-undivided-attention kind of attitude at the time. Not your optimal picture-taking conditions.
But I am VERY happy with the UPDATED RECIPE!!!!
I completely made up the name Blush Bubbly. The drink is bubbly and it is sort of a blush color. That was really my whole process. There was no brainstorming session. No trial and error. I just wrote it down and that was its name.
This kind of dessert is really my favorite.
It’s been a long week and you have neither the time nor the energy to make a fabulous, healthy side to that frozen pizza you whipped out of the oven…
Oh wait, I’m sorry, that was me. Is that a sacrilege?… Frozen pizza I mean. Bad? No?
Well, in any case, we have it from time to time at our house.
I love to have a good salad with my pizza and this one is great as a quick side for you and your family ANYtime…
When I made it this time around it was for our Mother’s Day get-together with my husband’s family. It’s simple and delicious.
You can add toppings to it if you like or just leave it as is!
Here is everything you need:
Olive oil, balsamic vinegar, strawberry jam, strawberries, and greens. JUST FIVE INGREDIENTS!!
(Okay, seven ingredients with salt and pepper)
What? I’m serious. Seriously… grilled cheese.
And yes, there IS in fact JAM in the recipe.
Listen, if you’re a mom, you know there are moments of desperation when you would try anything to get lunch together, right?
Am I wrong?
Okay, so it’s not your typical grilled cheese but there is cheese in it and it is grilled… cheese + grilled = GRILLED CHEESE… at least in my recipe-writing it does. 🙂
Oh yes, and if you’re opposed to the idea of frozen waffles… you might as well just stop reading right now.
Ricotta & Jam Grilled Cheese with Fresh Strawberries!!!
Just try to tell me that doesn’t look good…
Honey Strawberry-Rhubarb Crumble!
This is my final honey recipe and it’s DESSERT!
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. ~Proverbs 16:24
I hope you will make this SWEET dessert and serve it up with some SWEET words for your loved ones! Too often we use our words to tear each other down instead of building each other up. We focus on that which is lacking in one another instead of praising each other for our strengths.
We all know how much words can affect us… at least they affect me… they can make or break my day (or my week) and can inspire or discourage alike. So, whether you write a note or bring a verbal word of encouragement along with this crumble, speak gracious words that will be sweet to the souls of those who receive them… sweet like “honeycomb” as Proverbs says. 🙂
This recipe is especially close to my heart…
I grew up visiting the small town of Hendricks in farm-country Minnesota. One of my fondest memories was having my Grandma Caroline’s homemade rhubarb jam and pie… made with rhubarb straight from her garden no less!
While I didn’t harvest my rhubarb from my backyard garden (I’m expecting my green thumb to arrive any day now…), I did pick up some from the grocery store along with some strawberries for this DELICIOUS dessert!
Yet another recipe of mine made with ingredients I had on hand…
My husband said this is one of his favorite things I’ve made thus far!….
AND this is him eating it RE-heated, 3 hours after it was originally made! I assured him it was even better served hot right out of the oven and with the salad alongside… needless to say… this recipe will DEFINITELY be making an appearance again in the near future at our house!
