Praise the Lord for Grandmas!! AMEN???
My grandma Nell tucked this adorable “Chocolate Mug Cake” in with some Easter treats for my girls. The back of it reads “God sends no stress that chocolate and prayer can’t handle.”
The more I use puff pastry dough the more I like it.
I’m not what you would call a ‘Tofu’ kind of gal. It’s the last thing I would pull off the shelf at the supermarket if I needed to come up with dinner ‘on the fly’.
I mean seriously… like the last thing.
Because it’s Valentine’s Day… I felt the urge to say hello.
And to say I love ya.
And, while I’m at it, I decided to share this smoothie recipe with you.
This kind of dessert is really my favorite.
Before we get started, I have a confession to make.
There is something about “sticks” that make food more desirable to my munchkins… a boring turkey sandwich becomes exciting and gourmet when I cut it into squares and stick a toothpick into each one. Juice is yummy in a glass, but freeze it on a stick so you can lick it?! SO MUCH BETTER… right? Candy… so fun to eat. Candy on a stick (i.e. A Lollipop)… a special treat. Thus, chicken served right on the skewers it was cooked on… MAGNIFICENT!!
I love when they get excited about their dinner before it enters their little mouths.
Two things happened this past week that nearly knocked me over, gave me great relief, and renewed my excitement for this little blog of mine.
What were those things you ask?
Okay so actually not pin stripes… (though I often like the look)
or Picnics… (fun, but not so much in Arizona in July)
or Porsche… (pretty, but expensive)
Just PIE! (good anytime!!)
You have to promise me something before I tell you the recipe.
Are you ready?
PROMISE you will enjoy this pie with a scoop (or TWO) of your favorite vanilla ice cream.
Do you promise?
Okay, I trust you… so much so that I’ll give you the RECIPE now… not just at the end of the post.
